What is Girls Rocktober?

A month-long celebration geared at raising awareness of our project, strengthening community bonds, and raising money for future programming. It's also an opportunity for Girls Rock Denver's volunteers, campers, parents and supporters to spend time together and share their enthusiasm for our mission and vision.

KICK-OFF PARTY & OPENING NIGHT — Friday, Oct 7th

*** First Friday @ Sputnik (3 S Broadway) — Opening Night of Silent Art Auction featuring works by Laurie Maves, MATTER, Sonya Decman, Darci Armstrong, Michael McGrath, Ben Vena, Gracey West, Matt Flaherty and more; DJ will spin music from 6pm-10pm; FREE

*** Boys Rock for Girls Rock Benefit @ DPAU Space (734 Santa Fe) featuring music by The Hunting Party, Now Forever, Spokeshaver, and Joshua Novak; Music from 8pm - Midnight; Beer from Renegade Brewery 'til it runs out; ALL AGES; $5 - $10 suggested donation

ROCKIN' N ROLLIN' — Saturday, Oct 15th

*** GRD Night Out with the Denver Roller Dolls @ the 1st Bank Arena; Join GRD for a night at the roller derby. This is their only bout in October so players are mixing up teams, and there'll be a Halloween costume theme to the whole night. Buy a ticket from a GRD volunteer or through our email and 20% will go to our program! 7pm; ALL AGES; $15

SPECIAL FILM SCREENING — Sunday, Oct 16th

*** Post-show Ice Cream Happy Hour @ Sweet Action (52 Broadway); 5 - 6pm; ALL AGES

*** October 1st Release of 2011 Camper Showcase recording on www.bandcamp.com; during the month of October download the entire album (11 tracks) for only $5 (after that price goes up to $8); download any song for $.99/each; and GRD Theme Song for FREE

*** October 7th Release of 2011 Girls Rock Camp DVD(s) with photos and video highlights from camp week including music videos produced by GRD campers and showcase performances; Price TBD
