Girls Rock Denver is a day camp for female-identified, trans* and gender non-conforming youth, ages 8-17. Our mission is to empower these youth in our community through music education, creation and performance.

At Girls Rock Denver, campers learn how to play an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform their song at a showcase that's open to the community. Learning to write original music in a supportive space can be incredibly empowering. We provide hands-on workshops and assemblies designed to build self-esteem and develop leadership skills. Our campers make new friends, have a lot of fun, and leave camp with an appreciation for collaboration and creativity that will continue to impact their lives and communities.

This year's summer camp will be held July 10-15 at the Girls Athletic Leadership School in the Denver arts district. We're anticipating 80 campers and nearly 90 volunteers who will rock out at our camp. Camp tuition is based on a sliding scale, capped at $315. We always aim to fulfill all financial aid requests. This year, 12 campers are requesting full financial aid, and 27 campers are requesting partial financial assistance. Tuition helps cover operating expenses such as venue rentals, instrument maintenance and purchases, lunches, snacks, and general supplies and materials. As you can see, our costs go beyond the $315 for each camper, and that's where we need your help!
- A donation of $315 will sponsor one of our 12 campers needing full financial aid.
- Donations ranging from $50-$250 will help support one of our 27 campers in need of partial financial assistance.
- Any other amount will be used to secure supplies, equipment, food and beverages, or go toward rental fees.
We're reaching out to our community partners, individuals and organizations to contribute to Girls Rock Denver's 2017 camp by making a donation or sponsoring a camper.
- All donors and contributors will be listed on our showcase program and slideshow.
- Donors are also welcome to provide promotional materials at our showcase (July 15) that will be held in a 700+ capacity venue – the locally owned and operated Oriental Theater.
- For donations greater than $250, we will list you on our website and include a link, if appropriate.
- We publicly thank our supporters on our social media platforms as well.
- Best of all, your contribution directly impacts our community and youth by providing them with this unique opportunity to develop meaningful skills, friendships and attitudes that will positively impact their lives.
As a project of the Colorado Nonprofit Development center, all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. We can provide our federal tax ID number and proof of tax exempt status upon request.
